Job summary

Oshkosh Vocational Tennessee is seeking a Metal Finisher/Painter to support the paint preparation and finishing of truck components at our Murfreesboro facility. You will disassemble components, grind and sand surfaces, and prepare parts for painting while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will operate basic hand tools, assist with paint line tasks, and ensure accurate inventory and documentation. This role offers career growth and a direct-hire path within a growing site.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of hand tools and basic sanding.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Willing to learn and work in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble truck components as assigned.
• Grind and sand surfaces of parts, cabs, and truck bodies in preparation for painting.
• Prepare components for the painting process using basic hand tools.
• Perform quality inspections to ensure work meets established standards.
• Safely lift and position light to heavy truck components on and off carts and hangers.
• Hang and remove parts from paint line systems as required.
• Assist team members with lifting and positioning components onto carts or hangers.
• Push and pull carts to transport equipment and parts to and from designated areas.
• Record inventory of parts moving in and out of the paint department.
• Use a computer system to locate and track parts.
• Follow written and verbal instructions to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
