Position Overview

We're looking for a Metal Fabricator / Welder to bring custom concepts to life using various welding techniques and fabrication tools. In this role, you'll build from detailed drawings and blueprints, using your expertise in MIG and TIG welding, layout, and finishing to create high-quality, safe, and visually striking components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble custom metal structures and components
  • Use TIG and MIG welding to build and repair parts according to drawings/specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and fabrication sketches
  • Set up, operate, and maintain welding and cutting equipment
  • Perform precision layout, jig-making, and part alignment
  • Prepare metal surfaces for welding, including cutting and grinding
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and solve build challenges
  • Assist with general shop duties and support cross-department builds

Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • 2+ years of experience in metal fabrication and welding (TIG & MIG)
  • Strong ability to read tape measures, shop drawings, and blueprints
  • Hands-on experience with fabrication tools (grinders, calipers, saws, etc.)
  • Knowledge of proper safety procedures and PPE use
  • Familiarity with creative or exhibit-based builds a plus
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work well under pressure
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when needed

Qualifications

  • Ability to consistently lift 50-75 lbs and perform manual labor in various positions
  • Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and in tight spaces
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work in hot/cold conditions
  • Must be able to wear PPE and follow all safety guidelines
  • Reliable transportation to our Sturtevant, WI shop
