Duties and Responsibilities
Level I
- Cut and shape metal from its raw form into parts that can be used for assembly or aftermarket purposes.
- Reduce Quality Notifications and Scrap by using equipment and measurement instruments to drive part accuracy within print tolerances.
- Layout and assemble the work according to the specifications provided by sketches, prints, written instructions, and verbal directions.
- Establish the necessary metalworking equipment, such as rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears.
- Make and assemble metal components.
- Grind and polish finished goods.
- Conduct quality inspections on the finished goods.
- Ascertain layouts, operational sequences, or the identities and relationships of parts, one must read and interpret blueprints, illustrations, and specifications.
- Utilize measuring tools, blueprint lines, and index points, position and align subassemblies in fixtures or jigs.
- Create sub-assemblies by assembling prefabricated elements.
- Work accurately and precisely to achieve production deadlines.
- Ensure that the entire completed item was produced in line with type design specifications and was certified as complying with approved quality system criteria.
- Use calculators, scribes, dividers, squares, and rulers to layout, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on material, such as roofing panels, following drawings or templates.
- Fasten seams or joints together with welds, bolts, rivets, metal drive clips, or bonds to assemble parts into products or to repair sheet metal objects.
- Utilize shears, hammers, punches, and drills to fabricate or modify items when working on construction sites.
- Move the finished pieces into place for installation and secure them.
- Make holes in metal with a drill or a punch for screws, bolts, and rivets.
- Demonstrate teamwork by working well with others and responding positively to constructive feedback.
Level II
- Read and interpret blueprints and engineering plans, using the blueprints along with other data, such as work plans, to fabricate projects.

- Advanced proficiency with Layout-Fit up

Qualifications / Experience / Skills and Attributes
Required:
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a metal fabricator.
- Able to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with all customers, team members, and management.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Ability to take initiative and prioritize.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to walk and move around on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and move objects of 50lbs or more as required.
- Strong attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in production line.
- Previous Metal Shop experience.
Working Conditions / Schedule
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a warehouse setting.
- Hours: 6am – 2:30pm (MON-FRI).
- 30-minute lunch (unpaid).
- 15-minute break (paid).
- Work environment will change often and will require consistent awareness of surroundings and potential dangers to themselves and others.
- Physical Requirements: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. with assistance from others or lifting devices from floor to waist and waist to floor.
- Ability to walk, hear, and see in order to reasonably perform essential job functions.
- Must have agility and a good sense of balance, willing to work in high places.
