Job summary

Central Moloney, located in Panama City, FL, is seeking a Metal Fab Technician to shape structural components for transformers. You will operate multiple fabrication machines to complete the cover band process, measuring, cutting, and assembling parts with precision.

Role requires reading specs, using tape measures, and performing tack welds. The position emphasizes teamwork, safety, and reliability with overtime during peak production periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of experience in metal fabrication or industrial manufacturing preferred.
• Foundation in machine operating and machine programming.
• Ability to read a tape measure and follow specs.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
• Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and a team mindset.
• Willingness to undergo background check, drug test, and physical.

Responsibilities

• Operating up to five machines to complete the cover band process.
• Measuring, cutting, and forming metal parts with precision—reading a tape measure to spec.
• Fitting and fastening bands and inspecting assemblies for proper fit and quality.
• Operating fabrication equipment (press brake, shear, punch, saws).
• Handling heavy steel rolls safely and efficiently.
• Reading work instructions to fabricate parts to spec.
• Performing tack welds and minor assembly work.
• Ensuring components meet quality and dimensional standards.
• Collaborating with team members to meet daily production goals.
• Maintaining clean, safe work areas and following safety procedures.
• Pitching in with other duties as needed—cross-trained teams.

Please Note

Due to current production demands, this position currently requires mandatory overtime, including Friday and Saturday shifts. This schedule is expected to continue through the end of the year but is subject to change based on business needs.

What You’ll Need

Shift Schedule

• Monday to Thursday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM
• Overtime may be required based on production needs

Physical & Work Environment Expectations

• Lifting & Mobility: Lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted; standing, bending, and moving throughout your shift
• Work Environment: Our facility is active, loud, and warm—especially during peak production
• PPE: We provide and require safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes
• Dexterity & Vision: Manual dexterity and strong visual acuity are needed for detail-oriented work
• Endurance & Teamwork: You'll need stamina, clear communication, and a safety-first mindset
