Job summary

La-Z-Boy Incorporated in Kansas seeks an assembler to fabricate metal components for furniture per work orders in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role can operate independently or within a team to achieve quality and productivity goals.

You will set up and operate presses, load dies, maintain equipment, inspect finished work, rework non-conforming parts, and uphold safety and housekeeping standards. Strong reliability and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read complex print specifications.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Use and understand measuring tools (micrometer, calipers, etc.).
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate metal material according to La-Z-Boy quality requirements.
• Operate press, machine maintenance to maximize program yields.
• Load die and set up the machine, adjusting for each job.
• Keep all moving parts of machine lubricated.
• Operate forklift or pallet jack to relocate materials, supplies, and parts as needed.
• Inspect work visually for defects according to our quality standards
• Proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment
• Ability to operate equipment in a safe, accurate and efficient manner.
• Rework non-conforming parts as necessary.
• Control quality and waste.
• Demonstrates teamwork and motivation for job requirements.
• Follow health and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean work area.
