Job summary

MODULE X SOLUTIONS, a Shreveport-based modular manufacturing company, seeks a Fabrication Manager to lead all fabrication operations, drive safety, quality, and productivity, and oversee structural steel, beam line, welding, and precast activities.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience in structural steel fabrication, welding technologies, automated manufacturing systems, and workforce leadership, with a proven track record of optimizing throughput and cost performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 7–10 years fabrication or manufacturing experience with 5+ years leadership experience.
• Experience with structural steel fabrication operations and robotic welding required.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety culture and OSHA compliance across fabrication operations.

JOB SUMMARY

The Fabrication Manager is responsible for leading all fabrication operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. This position oversees the fabrication department, including structural steel processing, beam line operations, robotic welding systems, manual welding activities, and precast concrete manufacturing. The Fabrication Manager provides leadership to supervisors and fabrication personnel while driving continuous improvement, productivity, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in structural steel fabrication, welding technologies, automated manufacturing systems, precast concrete production, and workforce leadership.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety Leadership

• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout all fabrication operations.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and industry standards.
• Drive employee engagement in safety programs and continuous improvement initiatives.

Fabrication Operations Management

• Direct daily fabrication activities to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
• Manage manpower, equipment, and material flow across all fabrication processes.
• Coordinate production priorities with Operations, Project Management, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams.
• Monitor throughput, labor efficiency, quality performance, and productivity metrics.
• Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of fabrication equipment and tooling.

Beam Line Operations

• Manage beam line processing activities including drilling, coping, cutting, marking, and material handling.
• Optimize beam line performance to maximize productivity and material utilization.
• Monitor machine efficiency, downtime, and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Ensure fabrication accuracy and compliance with engineering specifications.

Robotic Welding Operations

• Oversee robotic welding systems and automated welding processes.
• Develop and implement best practices for robotic welding programming and operation.
• Ensure welding procedures meet quality and code requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve welding efficiency and consistency.
• Monitor equipment performance and coordinate troubleshooting and maintenance activities.

Precast Concrete Operations

• Manage all aspects of precast concrete production including forms, reinforcing steel placement, concrete placement, curing, finishing, and quality inspections.
• Coordinate production schedules to support project timelines.

Team Leadership and Development

• Lead supervisors, team leads, welders, operators, and fabrication personnel.
• Establish performance expectations and accountability measures.
• Conduct performance evaluations and employee development planning.
• Help develop training programs for fabrication, welding, robotics, beamline equipment, and precast operations.
• Foster teamwork, employee engagement, and operational excellence.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve labor utilization, throughput, quality, and cost performance.
• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Drive process standardization and best practices across fabrication operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication processes.
• Knowledge of robotic welding technologies and automated manufacturing systems.
• Knowledge of beam line processing equipment and operations.
• Understanding of AWS welding codes and fabrication standards.
• Knowledge of precast concrete production methods and quality requirements.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
• Proficiency in production scheduling and capacity planning.
• Ability to analyze operational metrics and drive performance improvements.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing reporting tools.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Work Experience:

• Minimum 7-10 years of fabrication or manufacturing experience.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
• Experience with structural steel fabrication operations required.
• Experience managing beam line equipment and material processing systems preferred.
• Experience with robotic welding systems, programming, and automation technologies required.
• Experience in precast concrete manufacturing is preferred.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
