Job summary

Aerotek in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Construction Labor to support shop and field tasks, building and assembling metal and steel panels for architectural, ornamental, and decorative metalwork projects. You will use hand and power tools, read tape measures, and travel to project sites as needed in a fast-paced production environment.

The role requires lifting 50+ pounds, indoor/outdoor work in hot conditions, and a willingness to train on forklift operation.

Qualifications

• Reading a tape measure accurately.
• Confident use of hand and power tools including grinders, sanders and saws.
• Experience in construction, metal fabrication, or related fields.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly in hot environments.
• Indoor/outdoor work in varying weather.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints for fabrication and installation.
• Proficiency with cutting tools (band/table/chop saws).
• Experience in grinding/polishing metal or similar materials.
• Basic understanding of production processes involving metals.
• Reliable access to a personal vehicle for travel to sites and shop.
• Willingness to train on forklift operation and certification when eligible.
• Load/unload trucks safely and efficiently.
• Meticulous attention to measuring, cutting, and assembling parts.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble metal and steel panels for architectural, ornamental, and decorative projects.
• Perform general labor and construction tasks in shop and field environments.
• Travel to job sites as needed and provide reliable transportation.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and basic machinery to cut, grind, sand, and prepare materials.
• Read tape measures and squares for precise measurements and cuts.
• Operate band/table/chop saws to cut wood and other materials for crates and production needs.
• Assist with grinding, polishing, and sanding metal surfaces to meet quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and proper crate/packaging processes.
• Load and unload materials safely and assist with pallet/shrink wrapping.
• Support production and installation activities; train on forklift operation as you advance.
