Job summary

Specialty Metals Corporation in Kent, WA is seeking an Inside Sales Representative – Metals & Fabrication to join our team on-site. You will review RFQs, drawings, specifications, and material requirements, develop accurate quotes, process orders, and coordinate with purchasing, production, and outside processors to deliver complete solutions for our customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience in metals, manufacturing, aerospace, fabrication, machining, or industrial sales preferred.
• Familiarity with metal alloys, tempers, specs and fabrication is desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret customer drawings, dimensions and tolerances.
• Strong math skills for pricing and quantities.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple RFQs and orders in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player who communicates professionally with customers.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer RFQs for metal products and processing services with pricing and lead times.
• Review drawings, specs, materials, and tolerances to select materials and methods.
• Verify availability, requirements, and delivery before quoting and entering orders.
• Convert quotes into accurate sales orders and maintain records.
• Coordinate with purchasing, production, quality, shipping, and outside processors.
• Promote products, inventory, and processing capabilities to customers.
• Follow up on quotes and orders to address concerns and identify sales opportunities.
• Communicate order status, lead times, and potential issues to customers.
• Coordinate with accounting to ensure accounts are in good standing for large/expedited orders.
• Manage order revisions and change requests with proper documentation.
