Job summary

Freeform is seeking a Process Engineer to help invent novel metal additive processes. You will analyze in situ data and post-print material characteristics to inform process improvements and drive reliability of metal 3D printing systems.

You will collaborate with mechanical, software, and simulations engineers to rapidly iterate on process parameters, perform metrology, and translate findings into production-ready methods that push performance and scale.

Responsibilities

• Support the Process Engineering team in understanding the metal additive process by analyzing in situ data and material properties.
• Assist in execution of experiments, analyze data, and help develop and optimize processes on a metal additive system.
• Perform post-build metrology measurements and analyze tensile strength, surface roughness, and alloy microstructure.
• Generate and track quality metrics of printed customer parts such as dimensional accuracy and surface roughness.
• Assist in development and implementation of tool qualification procedures.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, and simulations engineers to analyze data and improve printing processes.
