Job summary

Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, TX seeks a Cataloging and Serials Librarian to manage metadata for library resources, oversee serials processing, and supervise a part-time student worker.

The role requires a graduate library degree and experience with metadata standards, MARC formats, and OCLC products; you will contribute to discovery systems and maintain accurate holdings and procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate library degree (MLS/MLIS) required.
• Experience with metadata standards and processes.
• Experience with OCLC cataloging products or OCLC WMS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and catalog library resources (print books and periodicals).
• Catalog resources using RDA, LC Classification, LCSH, MARC21, and local standards.
• Maintain and update holding records and LHRs; process serials.
• Prepare items for binding and manage shipments to bindery and to DTS depository.
• Receive theses/dissertations and submit PDFs to ProQuest and DTS depository.
• Maintain cataloging, serials, and thesis/dissertation operation manuals; assist with duties.
