Job summary

The University of Alabama Libraries is hiring a Metadata Analytics Librarian at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. The role leads creation, management, and analysis of metadata to support discovery, access, preservation, and stewardship of library collections and scholarly resources.

Collaborate with library faculty and staff to implement metadata workflows and standards, and contribute to the FOLIO platform implementation and metadata strategy.

Qualifications

• Master's in Library and Information Science or a quantitative doctoral degree.
• Experience with MARC21, RDA, LC Classification and other metadata standards.
• Knowledge of DACS and EAD; OCLC Connexion and integrated library systems.
• 3–5 years of academic library experience; skills in MarcEdit, OpenRefine, Python, R and SQL.
• Experience with linked data (BIBFRAME, RDF) and metadata workflow design.
