Job summary
The Department of Genetics and Genomic Sciences at Mount Sinai is seeking a full-time geneticist with expertise in evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric and adult patients with metabolic and genetic disorders.
The candidate will join a distinguished faculty with clinical and biochemical genetics expertise and collaborate across multiple practice areas within medical genetics, contributing to newborn screening and comprehensive genetics services.
Qualifications
- ABMGG Board Certification/Eligibility in Clinical Genetics is required.
- Board Certification/Eligibility for Pediatrics or Internal Medicine is required.
- Eligibility for a New York State medical license is required.
- Additional Board certification in Biochemical Genetics is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Initiate and manage treatment for patients identified through the newborn screening program.
- Provide inpatient consultations for the metabolic service.
- Deliver both inpatient and outpatient clinical genetics care for pediatric and adult patients.
- Supervise medical genetics trainees and genetic counselors during clinical rotations.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team within the Program for Inherited Metabolic Diseases.
