Job summary

  • Experience in fermentation and metabolic modeling (FBA, COBRA, OptFlux).

  • Develop computational methods to optimize metabolic flux through sugar polymer biosynthesis pathways.
  • Create experimental workflows to perform fermentation and collect data.
  • Collaborate with the Synthetic Biology and Polymer Chemistry teams to optimize sugar polymer biosynthesis pathways in production strains.
  • Communicate methods and results both internally and externally with scientists, executives, and researchers.
  • Contribute to generation and documentation of intellectual property.

We will use metabolic engineering applications to optimize the metabolic flux through sugar polymer biosynthesis pathways, and improve product yields during fermentation.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop computational methods to optimize metabolic flux through sugar polymer biosynthesis pathways.
  • Create experimental workflows to perform fermentation and collect data.
  • Collaborate frequently with the Synthetic Biology and Polymer Chemistry teams to optimize sugar polymer biosynthesis pathways in the production strains.
  • Communicate methods and results both internally with the team and externally with other scientists, industry executives, and academic researchers.
  • Contribute to the generation and documentation of intellectual property
Who You are
  • Passionate about sustainability
  • Excited to be part of a fast-paced startup
  • Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Chemical or Biological Engineering, Fermentation, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of research experience in an academic or industry lab setting.
  • Skilled in fermentation, and computational methods such as FBA, COBRA, and OptFlux.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Metabolomic data analysis expertise.
  • Experience in synthetic biology and sugar polymer biosynthesis is a plus.
