Job summary

GEODIS in New York is seeking a Messenger/Courier to perform same-day, on-demand deliveries and pickups. You will move items on foot or via mass transit, ensuring accurate handoffs with customers and proper documentation.

The role requires knowledge of local transit routes, adherence to safety protocols, strong customer service, and the ability to read simple memos and write brief reports. This is a path to growth with a global logistics leader.

Responsibilities

• Picks up, transports and delivers items as directed via mass transit or foot.

• Operates electronic device for tracking deliveries and signatures.
• Reports any issues with deliveries such as lost or damaged package to Dispatch.
• Assists delivery drivers while loading and unloading packages.
• Other Duties as required and assigned.
• Supports GEODIS’ programs for Safety, Health, Environment, Quality, Ethics, Compliance, CSR and Sustainability

MESSENGER/COURIER

Work Schedule: Monday - Sunday 4:30 AM- 9:00 AM

Messenger/Courier is responsible for same day, on demand delivery. They will pick up, transport and deliver mail, parcels, and other packages on foot or via mass transit.

What you will be doing:

• Picks up, transports and delivers items as directed via mass transit or foot.

What you will need:

• Working knowledge of the area in which they are delivering including mass transit
• Follow safety and lifting protocols during deliveries
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to read and interpret simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write simple reports and correspondence
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
