Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Messaging & Collaboration L3 Engineer to provide advanced support, governance, and escalation management across Exchange Online, on-prem/hybrid Exchange, and email security platforms. This remote role serves enterprise messaging stability and continuity for clients in the USA.

You will administer Proofpoint, Clearswift, Enterprise Vault, and migration tools, handle complex mail flow issues, mailbox provisioning, and compliance activities, and mentor junior teams.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years supporting enterprise messaging environments.
• Strong Exchange Online and Hybrid Exchange experience.
• Experience with Proofpoint, Clearswift, or similar email security platforms.
• Experience with Enterprise Vault administration.
• Experience handling mailbox migrations and L3 escalations.
• Experience supporting global Microsoft 365 environments.

Responsibilities

• Act as the L3 escalation point for Messaging & Collaboration incidents.
• Administer Exchange Online, Exchange On-Prem, Proofpoint, Clearswift, Enterprise Vault, Biscom, and BitTitan.
• Troubleshoot complex mail flow, routing, connector, gateway, and hybrid Exchange issues.
• Support onboarding/offboarding, mailbox provisioning, permissions, and shared mailbox administration.
• Manage email security, anti-spam, anti-phishing, and secure mail gateway operations.
• Support mailbox migrations, tenant-to-tenant transitions, and messaging modernization projects.
• Support retention, legal hold, archive restore, journaling, and compliance activities.
• Maintain runbooks, SOPs/SOWs, knowledge articles, and transition documentation.
• Provide KT, reverse KT, and mentoring support for L1/L2 teams.

Role Summary

The Messaging & Collaboration L3 Engineer will provide advanced technical support, administration, governance, and escalation management across client’s messaging platforms, email security services, migration tools, and collaboration technologies. The role serves as the highest technical escalation point for Messaging operations and supports enterprise messaging stability, security, compliance, and service continuity.

The Ideal Candidate

A strong Level 300 Messaging SME capable of independently owning Exchange Online, Exchange On-Prem, Proofpoint Cloud, Proofpoint On-Prem, Clearswift, Enterprise Vault, BitTitan, and Biscom, while providing enterprise-level L3 support, migration expertise, messaging security governance, and operational leadership.

Salary and Benefits

The Salary for this position will be $99,000 and $115, 000 yearly depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
