Job summary

G&W Electric is seeking a Manufacturing Execution System Software Developer to analyze, design, and implement MES solutions across manufacturing operations. The role emphasizes Ignition MES, Python, SQL, and C++ development for full-stack solutions in a dynamic plant environment.

The candidate will maintain both frontend and backend code, enable high-quality UIs, and provide training and support while integrating ERP, WMS, Salesforce, and other systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or related field with software development experience.
• Ignition programming experience (certificate preferred or working toward certification).
• Python and SQL database development experience.
• Experience with greenfield design, architect, and implement SCADA systems, including SQL pipelines.
• Experience with multiple code languages (C++, Python, Java, Ladder Logic, Structured Text).
• Strong understanding of OOP and teamwork in development.
• Excellent SDLC knowledge across all phases.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, develop, test, and implement solutions using Ignition MES, Python, SQL, and/or C++.
• Maintain frontend and backend code, ensuring high-quality UI/UX.
• Provide user training, support, and troubleshooting services.
• Monitor applications for performance and data integrity.
• Create multiple integrations across ERP, WMS, Salesforce, etc.
• Perform code reviews and enforce best practices.
• Adhere to SDLC per G&W IT guidelines during changes and deployments.
• Communicate technical details to users in business terms and gather feedback.
• Participate in peer reviews and requirements development.
• Coordinate testing with other engineers to validate requirements.
