MES Senior Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking a Senior MES Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and testing project-specific Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and system integration solutions (such as LIMS or ERP) for clients primarily in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries. The goal is to enhance innovative process automation solutions that meet customer requirements.

This role includes working towards Syncade certification across relevant modules in conjunction with a full-time project role.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with clients and sales teams to define business needs and demonstrate our product and service capabilities.
  • Take responsibility for specific areas of the overall solution, including scope, sizing, system/operational requirements, and support project estimations.
  • Create prototypes, lead design and code reviews for special project features.
  • Develop detailed designs, implement, and test complex MES (Syncade) solutions, and produce user documentation suitable for validated facilities.
  • Support the Lead Engineer in managing customer expectations.
  • Ensure scope, quality, budget, and schedule adherence within your portfolio, and communicate scope changes promptly.
  • Assist clients with application issues, software upgrades, and patches.
Candidate Profile:

You are self-motivated, ambitious, and act with integrity. You provide helpful information across the organization and maintain effective customer relationships.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, or Control Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in process industries such as Biotech/Pharmaceutical, Chemical, or Food & Beverage, with a focus on MES project execution.
  • Experience with FDA regulated industries, cGMP, 21 CFR part 11, and validation processes.
  • Proficiency with MES systems (e.g., Syncade, Rockwell ProPack Data, Werum PAS-X, POMSnet).
  • Solid understanding of SQL Server or Oracle.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with ERP interfacing (e.g., SAP) or other Level 4 solutions.
  • Knowledge of process automation solutions.
  • Understanding of active directory, DNS, IP networks, and virtualization.
  • Proficiency in German and/or French is highly preferred.
