Job summary

EOSYS seeks an MES Engineer in Smyrna, TN to join a small, multi-disciplinary team delivering MES/MIS/MOM solutions for manufacturing clients across multiple facilities. The role is hybrid with regular onsite work at our Smyrna, TN office and up to 10% travel regionally and across the continental US.

You will configure workflows, data models, and system integrations while building APIs and lightweight applications to support customers.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Mechanical)
• 5+ years experience developing MES/MIS/MOM applications
• Configure workflows, data models, and system integrations
• Build supporting components (APIs, scripts, light applications)
• Work directly with customers to clarify requirements
• Follow EOSYS standards and reuse established templates
• Experience working in manufacturing or industrial environments
• Participate in testing and onsite commissioning
• Ability to travel approximately 10%

Job Summary

As an MES Engineer at EOSYS, you will work with a small, multi‑disciplinary team to develop solutions for manufacturing clients. Applications range from OEE applications to full‑scale MES, MIS, and MOM applications across multiple facilities. The EOSYS Digital Transformation team focuses primarily on the food & beverage and automotive industries. On some projects you will also be part of the project commissioning team that goes onsite to the client.

This position operates under a hybrid work model based out of our Smyrna, TN office. It requires a regular, routine onsite presence for face‑to‑face collaboration, team meetings, and hands‑on projects, combined with the flexibility of partial remote work. Additionally the position requires up to 10% travel to client sites regionally and throughout the continental US.

Requirements and Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Mechanical)
• 5+ years experience developing MES/MIS/MOM applications

Technical Scope

• MES platforms

• Experience with Parsec TrakSYS, AVEVA MES, PLEX, or Proficy
• Experience with OPC UA

• Basic knowledge of PLC tag structures and communications
• Experience with MQTT / UNS
• Experience developing SCADA systems

Physical Demands

• The work environment for this job is a combination of office and industrial setting
• Sitting at a desk or console for extended periods
• Must be able to be fitted for Personal Protective Equipment for certain customers
• Standing and walking on a concrete surface for extended periods
• Kneeling periodically on concrete or padded surfaces
• Lifting and carrying 25 lbs. or more
• Walking/working in mezzanine (screen guard) area (20–25 ft. high, wire mesh floor)
• Climbing a ladder or metal stairs to access mezzanine (screen guard) area
• Work in wash-down locations with wet/slippery floors

Work Schedule

• Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as required
• Must be able to travel and work extended hours

Work Environment

• The work environment for this job is a combination of office and industrial setting with little exposure to inclement weather
• Industrial environments vary and can include dusty, dirty, hot or wet conditions or in confined areas or other uncomfortable places
