Job summary
Actalent is seeking an Automation Engineer based in Reading, PA to lead MES integration, automation controls, and data integrity across North America. You will design, implement, and maintain the manufacturing integration program, aligning with ISA-95 standards and SAP S/4HANA transitions.
You will manage projects, develop automation and MES solutions, ensure SQL database performance, and collaborate with cross-site teams.
Qualifications
- 2+ years in industrial manufacturing including controls and MES
- Advanced programming and SQL DB knowledge (Python, scripting, SQL Agents)
- Ignition Vision / Perspective with web services programming experience
- ERP integration experience, SAP S/4HANA transition via REST APIs
- Excellent verbal and written communication
Responsibilities
- Define user and functional requirements for the MES system
- Improve MES and industrial automation controls
- Develop MES/Automation to support business needs
- Ensure MES data integrity and backups per retention policy
- Maintain SQL database performance and related services
- Lead capital planning for MES systems and equipment
- Contribute to 5-year capital plan for controls, software, data acquisition
- Support NA and site standards for MES and controls systems
- Assist capital projects with controls integration and best practices
- Implement upgrades for improved automation, safety, and security
