Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Merlin Propulsion Engineer to own engine hardware and software from build to flight and re-flight. You will drive design, process, and operational changes to improve reliability and producibility while supporting Falcon scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics required.
• 1+ years hands-on fabrication, assembly, or testing experience.
• 1+ years CAD design experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Responsible Engineer for Merlin engine hardware or system.
• Lead development and qualification test campaigns.
• Design, analyze, produce, and operate Merlin propulsion hardware.
• Collaborate across production, test, launch, avionics, software, and more.
• Resolve day-to-day production, test, and launch issues.
• Brief customers on hardware changes and issues as authority.
• Make risk-informed decisions under time pressure during campaigns.
• Implement hardware/software verification and validation with automation.
• Improve engine maintenance procedures with launch/test teams.
• Lead anomaly investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Build tools to automate analysis and speed decisions.
• Manage multiple projects against milestones and business needs.
