Job summary

Westin Hapuna Beach Resort in Hawaii is seeking a Service Attendant for HB Service Attendant Band 1U. You will assist in the dining room, set tables, stock supplies, and help servers to ensure guest satisfaction.

The role requires ability to stand and lift up to 25 lbs, work indoors/outdoors, and flexible hours including evenings and weekends; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests in a warm, friendly manner.
• Pour water, coffee, tea, etc., assist waitstaff in serving guests.
• Remove soiled linen and dishes from tables and transport to the kitchen.
• Refill beverages and replace soiled table linen; reset tables for service.
• Stock linen and supplies at the station for service.
• Assist in picking up food from kitchen and serving guests.
• Input food and beverage orders in the resort POS system.
• Keep dining room clean and orderly and manage spills and rubbish.

HB Service Attendant

Primary Responsibilities

Perform any combination of the following duties to facilitate food service; carry dirty dishes from dining room to kitchen; replace soiled table linen and set tables with silverware, glassware, and china. Clean and polish equipment, such as coffee urns, cream and mil dispensers. Assist waithelp in setting of tables and servicing guests. Clean and is responsible for the cleanliness of the dining room area. Detail of work may vary from one dining room to another. May transfer food and dishes between floors/rooms of establishment.

Essential Duties

1. Welcome and greet guests in a warm and friendly manner, personalizing the service.


2. Pour water, coffee, tea, etc., assist waithelp in servicing guests.


3. Remove soiled linen, dishes, silverware, glassware from tables and transport to kitchen.


4. Refill beverages.


5. Replace soiled table linen and reset tables for service.


6. Pick-up food from kitchen and assist in serving guests.


7. Clean and polish equipment.


8. Perform side duties before service and after restaurant service.


9. Consistently perform tasks as specified on sequence of service standards and SOPs.


10. Keep supplies stocked in his/her station.


11. Recognize and appropriately respond to irate patrons; contact manager on potential problems.


12. Able to answer questions regarding the menu and beverages served in the restaurant.


13. Pick-up and stock linen and other supplies


14. Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

Other Duties

1. Keep work area and dining room clean and orderly; pick up rubbish, wipe up spills, etc.


2. May input food and beverage orders in the POS system.


3. Recommend the resort’s restaurants and facilities to guests

Working Conditions

1. Indoors in a specific restaurant(s).


2. Outdoor venues in all types of weather.

Work Hours

1. Able to work shift and days determined by the restaurant manager


2. Able to work more than 40 hours per week when needed

Equipment Use

1. Coffee makers, toasters, espresso machine


2. Carts or wagons to transport china, glassware, silverwares, linen, etc.


3. Resort’s POS system

Mental and Physical Demands

1. Able to stand, walk, bend and reach during most of shift.


2. Lift and carry up to 25 lbs.


3. Push and pull up to and over 50 lbs


4. Able manage stressful and challenging situations when dealing with guests

Communication Demands

1. Able to communicate verbally to employees, managers and guests.
