Job summary

Mercury Marine, a division of Brunswick Corporation, is seeking an HR Operations co-op in Fond du Lac, WI. This paid opportunity offers exposure to recruiting, analytics, benefits, compensation, and employee relations in a hybrid work setting.

You’ll complete a meaningful project and present to leadership while gaining hands-on experience across HR disciplines. Applicants must be enrolled in an HR-related bachelor's program, have at least 48 credits, and be available full-time May–December 2027,

Qualifications

  • Current enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program with a major in Human Resources or a similar field
  • Minimum second semester sophomore status with 48 completed credits
  • Availability to work full-time (40+ hours/week) May–December 2027 with potential part-time during school year
  • Ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality
  • Experience with Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Skilled in effective research tactics with strong organization skills
  • Must convey a helpful and professional image to internal and external customers
  • Dependable, self-motivated and engaged learner

Position Overview

As part of the talented Human Resources Operations team, you will collaborate with a variety of people on projects and work that contributes to the success of the Manufacturing Operations teams. This role will provide an opportunity to gain practical experience and insights into HR Operations. You will receive a variety of experiences across multiple disciplines of Human Resources as well.

Essential Functions:
  • Explore key areas of Human Resources by being exposed to work in recruiting, analytics, benefits, compensation, talent management, employee & labor relations, and learning & development.
  • Complete a meaningful project and present your results to leadership.
  • Support key processes by partnering with experienced HR leaders and propose and execute ideas for improvement.
  • The HR intern performs various administrative tasks in support of the HR department.
  • Organize, schedule, and execute employee engagement activities.

Required Qualifications:

Working Conditions
  • Learning Opportunities: Our Student Program is designed to provide hands‑on experience in a professional setting. You will work alongside experienced professionals and get a chance to apply your academic knowledge to real‑world tasks.
  • Project Work: The work environment is supportive, collaborative, and conducive to learning. Student co‑ops or interns typically work on specific projects or tasks that contribute to the organization’s goals. This may range from supporting larger projects to handling smaller, individual assignments.
  • Hours: Co‑ops and Interns are expected to work a full 40‑hour work week
  • Feedback and Performance Reviews: As a co‑op or intern, you will receive feedback and performance reviews throughout your assignment. We value the importance for interns to understand their progress and areas for improvement.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $27.50 per hour. The actual hourly rate offered will vary depending on multiple factors including year in school/credits earned, degree, job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
