Upgrade is seeking a Merchant Risk Data Analyst to transform how we identify and mitigate merchant risk through data analysis and visualization. You will build predictive models, automated monitoring triggers, and actionable insights that protect our platform from fraud, compliance violations, and operational failures.

Qualifications

• 3+ years merchant risk experience in fintech or payments.
• Strong SQL for large datasets.
• Experience building dashboards with BI tools.
• Experience with predictive modeling and statistics.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large volumes of transactional data to identify merchant risk patterns.
• Build predictive models to forecast merchant fraud and distress.
• Develop risk scoring methodologies to prioritize high-risk merchants.
• Create Tableau dashboards for merchant investigations.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product to operationalize triggers.
• Monitor trigger performance and adjust thresholds.
• Present findings to leadership in clear formats.
• Stay current on merchant risk trends and best practices.
