Job summary

Staples is seeking a business merchandising intern in Massachusetts to support SKU lifecycle management, forecasting, and reporting. You will partner with content, inventory, and vendor teams to ensure a strong assortment across channels and drive cost-effective decisions.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Finance, or a related field.
• Must be May 2026 or Aug 2026 graduate.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Ability to convey thoughts verbally and in writing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience working independently and across multiple groups.

Responsibilities

• Manage SKU lifecycle: setup, maintenance, inactivations, RTVs. Coordinate with content and inventory.
• Maintain Master Assortment tracker for items across BUs and provide SKU needs.
• Communicate new items and forecasts across BU counterparts, Inventory & Planning, Vendor Mgmt, etc.
• Identify matches to merch ops for ALT products.
• Run reports on sales, margin, and vendor purchases.
• Analyze vendor and assortment performance and recommend improvements.
• Communicate cost increases via PCW with vendors or own brand team.
• Support Merchandising teams with RFPs and proposals.
