Job summary

Academy Sports + Outdoors is seeking a visual merchandising specialist to execute planograms, coordinate fixtures, and optimize store layouts to support strong product presentation and a customer-friendly experience.

You will collaborate with Merchants and Category Management, analyze space allocation, and participate in special projects and process improvements while maintaining accurate, detail‑oriented planograms.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent years of related work experience required.
• 2+ years of related experience in merchandising, space planning, or a similar field required.
• Working knowledge of the JDA Category Management Suite.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Ability to communicate complex information in a clear, actionable way.
• Ability to prioritize workload across multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail with consistent accuracy in deliverables.
• A team-first attitude; while your core duties are your priority, you're happy to step in wherever you're needed.

Responsibilities

• Execute visual merchandising strategies to support store presentation and customer experience.
• Create planograms and coordinate fixture and graphic fulfillment.
• Review store setups to ensure accuracy and alignment with sales goals.
• Collaborate with Merchants and Category Management to develop space plans.
• Analyze space allocation and adjust assortment based on post-mortems.
• Engage in special projects and continuous process improvements.
• Communicate with store teams to ensure planograms are executed accurately and feedback informs future designs.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships to align inventory and presentation standards.
