Job summary

Four Hands, a leading furniture designer and wholesaler headquartered in Austin, Texas, is seeking a Merchandising Intern. In this part-time position, you will engage with the Merchant team to assist in product analysis, reporting, and market research while gaining hands-on experience in the furniture industry.

The internship lasts a minimum of 12 weeks and requires 20 to 25 hours of work each week, providing a unique opportunity to develop merchandising strategies and insights into industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in merchandising, supply chain management, business, or related field.
  • Knowledge of Excel (VLOOKUPS, Pivot Table, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Assist Merchant Team with audits on new and existing information.
  • Work closely with Merchant team on ad hoc reporting and presentations.
  • Participate in cross‑functional project teams for process improvements.
  • Perform research and analysis of market competitor’s assortments.
  • Support in analyzing trends in the furniture industry.

Skills

Knowledge of Excel (VLOOKUPS, Pivot Table, etc.)

Education

Pursuing a degree in merchandising, supply chain management, business, or related field

As a Merchandising Intern, you’ll work closely with the Merchant team to support product analysis, reporting, and market research. This role provides hands‑on experience with cross‑functional projects, helping you develop a strong understanding of merchandising strategy and the furniture industry at Four Hands.

This position is expected to start September 2026 and continue through the entire Fall 2026 term (through December 2026). Our internships are a minimum of 12 weeks, part-time (20 to 25 hours) and on-site.

In This Role
  • Assist Merchant Team with audits on new and existing information including costing, pricing, dimensions, fabric, and site information in various internal systems
  • Work closely with Merchant team on ad hoc reporting and presentations for both internal and external deliverables
  • Participate in cross‑functional project teams to help with process improvements related to Merchandising, Product Development, Product Data, Buying & Planning
  • Perform research and analysis of market competitor’s assortments and pricing as designated by Merchant team
  • Support in analyzing current and future trends in the furniture industry to help inform Four Hands product strategy
  • Other duties as assigned, in accordance with training and qualifications
