Dollar Tree in Tampa is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team and delivering positive customer experiences. You will focus on merchandising and processing freight, while handling opening/closing procedures and maintaining store standards.

Ideal candidates bring prior retail and management experience, strong communication skills, and comfort working in a high-energy team; lifting 30–50 lbs and on-site duties are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines.
• Maintain stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain store cleanliness and restock bathrooms, floors, and trash areas.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Other duties as assigned by Store Manager.
• Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
• Manage freight flow according to productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise needs, including frozen & refrigerated items.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan and merchandise Clip Strips and Power Panels with profitable items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
