Our team is currently looking for a Part-Time Merchandiser to keep up our level of commitment to safety and customer service. The Merchandiser’s main job function is to assist with sales and create brand awareness. A sales merchandiser should have knowledge of our products as they relate to the deli.

Pay Rate: $19.00-$22.00 based on experience

The duties of a Dietz & Watson Merchandiser include but are not limited to:

  • Safely operate a deli slicer
  • Set up of deli cases and appropriately rotate deli product
  • Understand and execute schematics/planograms
  • Maintain marketing displays using Dietz & Watson Point of Sale (POS)
  • Be a self-starter, work in a team environment, and/or with little or no supervision
  • Manage time effectively and productively
  • Complete all reports as necessary including store surveys
  • Provide coverage to all stores within the assigned territory based on store ranking
  • Make regular store visits documenting concerns/problems and addressing them timely
  • Build and maintain customer relationships with high-level customer service techniques
  • Create and market Dietz & Watson programs
  • Train new store deli hires and refresh training when needed
  • Communicate necessary information to Merchandiser Manager
  • Use monthly sales reports to achieve 100% distribution
  • Explore opportunities for sales growth
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
  • Perform special projects outside of the territory
  • Travel as needed, including flying, up to 30%
  • Read and write English
  • Have computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Possess communication, organization, creativity, and customization skills
  • Exercise independent decision-making skills
  • Work weekends occasionally
  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of customer service/sales experience preferred; deli experience is a plus
  • Have a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
  • Pass the company-issued ServSafe Manager exam

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Room temperature while in stores
  • Lift up to 20 pounds frequently, up to 50 pounds occasionally, and push/pull carts up to 100 lbs.
  • Walking, reaching, using both hands and arms, operating a vehicle
  • Work in refrigerated areas at times
  • Must be able to work in a safety-sensitive position
