Job summary

Bell Nursery in Charlotte, NC is seeking a part-time Merchandiser to support major garden centers. You will unload shipments, stock live goods, and set up attractive plant displays, while following plan-o-grams and maintaining accurate inventory. This outdoor, active role runs typically February through October.

Weekend work is strongly preferred. You’ll use a smartphone for payroll and inventory apps, communicate with store leadership, and help customers with basic questions.

Qualifications

• Must enjoy outdoor, physical work and be active.
• Able to lift up to 50 lb and push carts up to 100 lb.
• Reliable and safety-conscious; able to work weekends.
• Comfortable using smartphone for payroll and inventory apps.

Responsibilities

• Unload, move, and stock live-goods shipments — up to 50 lb; push/pull carts up to 100 lb.
• Execute merchandising and display plans (plan-o-grams).
• Maintain accurate inventory and monitor watering standards for live goods.
• Communicate daily with store leadership on execution and status.
• Provide basic customer service when needed.

What you’ll do (Merchandiser responsibilities)

• Unload, move, and stock live-goods shipments — manually or with help — including lifting and carrying up to 50 lb, and pushing/pulling carts up to ~100 lb
• Execute merchandising and display plans (plan-o-grams), including setting promotional ads
• Maintain accurate inventory, monitor watering/sustainability standards, and ensure live goods are well cared for
• Communicate daily with store and Bell Nursery leadership on execution and store status
• Provide basic customer service when needed

What we’re looking for (Candidate attributes)

• Enjoy working outdoors, being active, and doing physical work
• Comfortable working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced, sometimes variable environment
• Reliable, alert, safety-conscious, with good problem-solving skills
• Able to work weekends (strongly preferred), and access to dependable transportation (private or public)
• Comfortable using a smartphone to manage payroll/inventory apps, and communicating via text, email, or phone
