Job Summary

The Merchandiser will promote the game of golf by developing a merchandise plan to meet the needs of Members and guests, execute the plan within inventory guidelines, manage special orders, and assist the golf shop operations team as needed. Responsible for all soft goods merchandising and buying for the Golf Shop including weekly and period reporting to Regional Merchandise Manager.

Day-to-Day

• Offer the highest level of service and professionalism to the Members and Guests, while promoting the game of golf.
• Execute the buy plan with efficient and timely receipt of merchandise in accordance with ClubCorp policies and procedures.
• Maintain Vendor/Supplier files as backup to buy plan and actual purchases.
• Leverage tools to manage inventory and maximize financial performance regarding merchandise sales.
• Initiate and follow up on all special orders in a timely manner. Ensure all special orders are properly invoiced when the order is placed.
• Maintain a clean Golf Shop, routinely merchandised twice per period.
• Train all Shop staff on maintaining shop displays with appropriate signage for all merchandise.
• Develop and execute an annual merchandising events calendar to promote merchandise events (trunk sales, demo days, etc.).

About You

• At least 2 years' experience in merchandising/buying in a similar market.
• Experience with financial and budget responsibilities, developing sales and purchasing plans, and setting COS goals with the Head Golf Pro.
• Experience training personnel on merchandise management, receiving, and inventory methodologies.
• Customer service experience and basic golf knowledge.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and employee matters.
• High ethical standards and professionalism.
• Comfortable working indoors with some outdoor exposure.
• College degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
