Job summary

Burpee Garden Products seeks a Part-Time Seasonal Merchandiser to support our 2027 season. You will set up seed displays, keep shelves tidy, and communicate product reorders across a designated retail territory.

The role offers flexible hours, mileage reimbursement, and an employee discount. Prior retail merchandising is helpful, but training is provided; you must have a smartphone, internet access, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Candidates should be self-directed and able to work independently.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Experience in retail merchandising or willingness to learn is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and tear down Burpee seed displays, racking, and fixtures.
• Straighten and organize displays and maintain store presentation.
• Communicate reorders for designated accounts and report weekly.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with store management.
• Monitor and report inventory levels and count unsold items at season end.
• Report activity to Retail Merchandising Manager regularly.
• Additional merchandising duties as needed.

Great opportunity to earn extra money while working for the industry leader! The ideal candidate will have previous retail merchandising experience. However, paid training is also available for the right individual.

You will contribute to the overall success of the organization by providing retail merchandising coverage within a designated retail territory. Burpee is offering flexible hours within a set territory, with the occasional need to assist in other areas when necessary.

Seasonal Retail Merchandiser Position Responsibilities:

• Set up and tear down of Burpee Seed displays / racking / store fixtures
• Straighten and organize displays
• Communicate reorders for designated accounts
• Complete all reporting accurately and timely (weekly)
• Develop and maintain positive customer relationships with store management
• Monitor and report on inventory; itemize and count unsold packets at the end of the season
• Report all retail activity to your Retail Merchandising Manager on a regular basis
• Additional merchandising activities as needed

Seasonal Retail Merchandiser Position Requirements:

• Must have a smartphone with access to email and the internet
• Smartphone must be able to download apps and have functionality of apps
• Must have internet and email access
• This position can be labor intensive; must be able to lift, load, push and pull cartons weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to bend, reach and squat while performing merchandising activities
• You must have your own vehicle
• Valid drivers’ license and current auto insurance required
