Job summary

Peerless Beverage is seeking a full-time Merchandiser to stock and maintain retail displays, execute merchandising plans, and support sales teams across Union, NJ. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and strong customer service in a fast-paced environment.

You will build relationships with retailers, rotate products, install point-of-sale tools, and report progress to merchandising management while adhering to company standards and local regulations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety as priority and inform management of safety issues.
• Promote Peerless Beverage's market share in retail accounts.
• Understand marketing programs, POS tools, and merchandising requirements to execute plan at retail accounts.
• Apply retail account standards to merchandising calls.
• Develop relationships with retail customers to meet service standards and mutual goals.
• Promote a positive image and maintain company dress code.
• Coordinate with sales reps and drivers to execute merchandising tasks.
• Complete assigned merchandising stops and report progress to management.
• Execute merchandising duties including building and maintaining displays, rotating products, installing and refreshing POS tools, and assisting on resets.
• Report account issues requiring follow-up (pricing, OOS, product quality, competition).
• Maintain equipment and ensure safe operation of merchandising vehicle.
• Obey traffic laws and drive safely.
• Assist other departments as needed and directed by Merchandising Manager.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and keep stocked.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform responsibilities keeping safety as the number one priority for yourself and your colleagues. Inform management of any safety issues or concerns.

• Understand Peerless Beverage Company marketing programs, point of sale tools, and merchandising requirements in order to execute to plan at retail accounts.

• Responsible for daily execution of merchandising assignments including but not limited to, building / maintaining Peerless Beverage Company displays, rotating product, installing point of sale tools, updating, and refreshing point of sale tools, and assisting on resets.
• Work with sales team and report any account-related issues that cannot be addressed and requires additional follow-up such as but not limited to, pricing, out of stocks, product quality issues, competitive activities, etc.
• Responsible for using all assigned Peerless Beverage Company equipment in an efficient manner, ensuring all equipment is not abused or damaged while conducting daily job duties.
• Obey all traffic laws and regulations for Federal, State, and Local laws to maintain a safe driving record.
• Willing and able to assist other department with tasks or projects when needed and directed by Merchandising Manager or Field Merchandising Supervisor.
• Inspects assigned vehicle for mechanical problems and is responsible for keeping merchandising vehicle properly stocked and equipped to perform all merchandising duties.

Working Conditions

The physical and mental demands described below are representative of those that are most commonly encountered in this position yet are not all inclusive. Physical and mental ability to perform the duties of this job include hearing ability sufficient to communicate efficiently and effectively with internal and external customers in person and by telephone/voice systems. Hearing ability is also necessary for safety due to mechanical equipment use at many customer locations. This position requires almost constant standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, lifting/pulling, and pushing of up to 160 lbs., without mechanical assistance, at ground to above head levels. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder up to 15ft. Ability to work in outside environments through different climate. Cognitive, intellectual, and mental ability to concentrate on details, and to perform more than one task at a time, including when under significant time and other pressures and to communicate professionally and effectively with customers, co-workers, and all levels of personnel.
