Job summary

Lids Sports Group, based in Indianapolis, is seeking an Associate Merchandise Planner to help build financial sales, gross margin, and inventory plans across pre-season and in-season periods. You will collaborate with Buying & Merchandising to develop local assortment strategies that maximize sales and profitability.

The role involves creating schedules, managing Open-to-Buy, analyzing trends, and delivering analytics to executives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, fashion merchandising, or related field.
0–3 years merchandising, planning, buying, or related experience preferred.
Strong understanding of retail math and financial reporting.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficient with computers and relevant software.
Strong analytical skills to translate data into insights.

Responsibilities

Coordinate annual, seasonal, monthly, weekly, and daily merchandise plans.
Construct merchandise purchase schedules, including initial and in-season flow.
Manage monthly department-level Open-to-Buy (OTB) activities.
Provide analysis on trends and recommendations to influence assortments.
Analyze historical performance to identify opportunities and risks.
Prepare pre-season promotions and markdown strategies with Buying and Merchandising teams.
Develop, maintain, and update tools and reports to support business needs.
Establish processes to review product assortments and support decision-making.
Serve as a resource for process improvements.
