Overview :

The Merchandise Planner will be responsible for the strategic planning, analyzing, and merchandising of product assortments for high volume accounts while being financially accountable to drive results.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Partner with Merchandising on the development of directed assortments for each segment of distribution that align with corporate vision
  • Conduct market research and on competition in relation to brand(s) and lead in the analysis to influence line development and MSRPs that will drive the business
  • Shop stores monthly to identify trends, understand the competitive landscape, and find product opportunity
  • Work closely with Sales and Design to ensure all geo needs are met
  • Partner with Sales to support account strategy / exclusives and ensure sales goals are met by account
  • Partner on budget analysis by brand and category to achieve company sales goals and to maximize inventory management
  • Utilize the directed assortments by tier of distribution to affect the buys
  • Partner with the Sourcing team to develop and execute capacity plans to ensure demand by category can be fulfilled
  • Develop and execute processes and timelines for the sales and planning teams in order to hit buying and sourcing deadlines
  • Guide the line planning process to ensure SKU optimization and productivity
  • Partner with Sales on all sourcing questions and emails to ensure timelines are met
  • Partner with Sales and Planning on placing seasonal buys and opportunity buys while delivering target margins
  • Partner with Merchandising and Design to identify new product opportunities and present retail opportunities to cross functional leadership
  • Partner with sales to create, track, and execute sales goals
  • Travel as needed
  • Special projects as assigned

Requirements

Required Skills / Abilities / Education :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Merchandising, Finance or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in Merchandising, Buying, or Merchandise Planning
  • Fluent in Retail Math and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to travel as needed (up to 30%)
  • Excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills with attention to detail

Salary Description
