Job description

At 5.11, we design gear for those who live and lead with purpose. As our Merchandise Planner, you’ll help ensure our product strategies meet the needs of diverse markets while driving strong, profitable growth. This role is key in aligning inventory and assortment plans across channels, balancing global strategies with local insights.

You’ll partner closely with Sales, Merchandising, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to develop inventory plans, support revenue goals, and identify opportunities that improve productivity and customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build bottom-up merchandise plans by region, category, and style to support revenue, margin, and inventory goals
  • Translate global category strategies into channel-specific product and inventory plans
  • Develop SKU-level guidance based on sales trends, productivity, and regional market needs
  • Own ladder plans, key item strategies, and top-seller performance reporting
  • Support assortment planning and SKU rationalization using seasonal lookbacks and analytics

Open-to-Buy & Forecasting

  • Lead OTB planning and monthly updates by channel and category
  • Create and manage statistical forecasts in planning tools like Logility
  • Monitor forecast accuracy, perform root cause analysis, and recommend improvements
  • Align demand forecasts with input from Sales, Product, and Finance
  • Identify in-season risks and recommend actionable solutions to optimize inventory and margin

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in merchandise planning, demand planning, or wholesale/retail buying
  • Background in apparel, footwear, or consumer goods preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel proficiency
  • Familiarity with planning and forecasting tools (e.g., Logility, Anaplan, SAP)
  • Strong communicator and collaborator with a sharp eye for patterns, opportunities, and problem solving
  • Experience presenting insights and influencing decisions across teams

Pay Range: $80,000-$90,000 annually, plus bonus.
