Position Summary

The Merchandise Manager will create, oversee, and implement merchandising strategies for Santander Arena, the home of the Reading Royals.

Our ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and deadline-driven individual with experience managing a small to medium-sized team. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a creative eye for sourcing and presenting clothing, headwear, accessories, and other game day fan gear.

This role offers an annual salary of $62,000-$65,000.

Responsibilities

1. Oversee planning and implementation of merchandising strategies to meet volume and profit goals.
2. Ensure deadlines, inventory requirements, and customer orders are completed timely.
3. Create eye-catching store layouts that reflect the brand and team aesthetic.
4. Prepare and maintain annual budgets.
5. Negotiate inventory costs.
6. Forecast, set prices, and negotiate quantities with buyers, suppliers, and distributors.
7. Ensure product selection aligns with market trends.
8. Track inventory movement and introduce promotions, sales, and price changes.
9. Interpret sales reports and guide improvements in sales and customer engagement.
10. Hire, coach, and manage a team to operate the Team Store seasonally.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in marketing, business management, retail, or related field.
2. Minimum of five years' managerial experience.
