Crate and Barrel is seeking a Merchandise Handler I to support daily distribution operations. You will load and unload trailers, safely operate stand-up forklifts, and assemble stable product pallets for efficient staging.

Responsibilities

• Loads/unloads trailers using dollies or motorized equipment.
• Operates material handling equipment safely: stand-up forklift (PE, PC, RC).
• Builds stable pallets of merchandise.
• Stages unloaded products.
• Reports problems to supervisor (merchandise location system or loading/unloading).
• Cleans up and disposes boxes, packing material, pallets; maintains housekeeping.
• Rotates through departments to meet business needs.
• Participates in ongoing training on technology upgrades and new systems.
• Performs tasks to achieve daily productivity and quality goals.

A day in the life as a Merchandise Handler I...

• Loads / unloads trailers using dollies or motorized equipment


• Operates all material handling equipment safely: stand-up type forklift (PE, PC, RC)


• Responsible for building stable pallets of merchandise


• Responsible for staging unloaded products


• Communicates any problems to the supervisor including issues with the merchandise location system or with the merchandise being loaded / unloaded


• Cleans up and disposes boxes, packing material, and pallets, as well as general housekeeping of facility and specific product line areas


• Rotates through different departments, as necessary, to meet the demands of the business


• Participates in ongoing training regarding technology upgrades and new systems applicable to the position


• Performs all job tasks assigned by the leadership staff to achieve and maintain daily productivity and quality goals
