The answer is simple: we do. We assemble them, disassemble them, build them, place them on display – all on-site right there in the store in Reston, VA!

If you prefer working alone, dislike sitting still all day, and are looking for a fast-paced, hands-on job, then joining our team as a retail merchandise display assembler may be a good fit for you. We have several positions in North Virginia, including Reston VA.

Responsibilities
  • Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures
  • Collect all material and equipment needed to begin the process
  • Take precision measurements to ensure perfect fit of components
  • Select or modify components according to measurements and specifications
  • Align material and assemble parts to build more complex units
  • Check output to ensure highest quality
  • Maintain merchandise in good condition
  • Keep records of production quantities and time
  • Report issues, malfunctions, or defective parts
  • Check company toolbox application for assembly quantities and timeframes
  • Maximize customer interest and sales levels by displaying products appropriately

Around the Clock Services is hiring Retail Merchandise Assembly Technicians immediately in Reston, VA, NOVA, and the entire Virginia area. You will service retail chains, building wheelbarrows, outdoor gas grills, patio furniture, and more. After training, there is an opportunity to work as an In-Store Merchandise Assembler with major clients like Lowe's, Home Depot, ACE Hardware, Cabela’s, and others.

Skills
  • Proven experience as assembler
  • Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, drawings, etc.
  • Understanding of quality control principles
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical condition
  • Advanced knowledge of hand and power tools
  • Heavy lifting (up to 80 lbs repeatedly and daily)
  • Ability to work steadily, accurately, and quickly
  • Ability to stand, squat, and bend over for long periods
  • Mechanical inclination and ability to meet productivity standards
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and able to work alone
Work Requirements
  • Must be 18 or older
  • Reliable transportation and a working mobile phone
  • Access to the internet
  • Availability at 9 am, M-F, and flexible weekends
  • Willing to travel between store locations and work at various sites
Tool Requirements
  • Impact drill (at least 2 batteries)
  • Assorted drill bits and adapters
  • Basic hand tools (screwdriver, wrench, sockets, box cutter)
  • Smartphone or device with WIFI or mobile internet

This is an independent contractor, piecework position, paid per item built. The pay rate varies by difficulty; faster, accurate work earns more. Immediate openings are available, with training lasting approximately 1-2 weeks. Upon hire, you will be a W-4/I-9, 1099 contractor. The company considers applicants with criminal records.
