Job summary

Walter's Auto Sales in Riverside, CA is seeking a motivated Mercedes-Benz Technician Trainee to join our service team. This entry-level mentorship program provides hands-on training under Master Technicians and prepares you for Mercedes-Benz factory modules and eventual brand certification.

You will diagnose, maintain, and repair luxury vehicles using XENTRY/STAR, perform routine maintenance, and document repairs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Enrollment in or completion of an Automotive Technology program or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Basic understanding of automotive mechanics, tools, and electronics.
• Willingness to learn and follow precise technical procedures.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on Training & Mentorship: work with Master Technicians on diagnostics and repairs.
• Routine Maintenance: oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, fluid flushes, battery replacements.
• Diagnostic & Tool Usage: use Mercedes-Benz diagnostic equipment (XENTRY/STAR) and hand tools.
• Factory Certification: complete Mercedes-Benz e-learning and instructor-led modules toward certification.
• Documentation & Compliance: accurately document repair steps and maintenance findings on repair orders.
• Workshop Upkeep: maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment per OSHA standards.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated, tech-savvy Mercedes-Benz Technician Trainee to join our service team. This entry-level mentorship program is designed for passionate individuals aspiring to build a career as a certified Mercedes-Benz Automotive Technician.

Under the direct supervision of Master Technicians and Service Managers, you will undergo hands-on technical training, complete Mercedes-Benz factory training modules, and gain practical experience performing diagnostics, routine maintenance, and repair services on luxury vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hands-on Training & Mentorship: Work side-by-side with experienced Master Technicians to perform vehicle diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and mechanical/electrical repairs.
• Routine Maintenance: Perform oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, fluid flushes, battery replacements, and multi-point vehicle health checks.
• Diagnostic & Tool Usage: Learn and utilize specialized Mercedes-Benz diagnostic equipment (XENTRY/STAR Diagnosis), hand tools, and workshop technologies.
• Factory Certification: Complete assigned Mercedes-Benz e-learning coursework and attend instructor-led training modules to work toward official Brand Certification.
• Documentation & Compliance: Accurately document repair steps and maintenance findings on repair orders; strictly follow safety and environmental guidelines.
• Workshop Upkeep: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and dealership standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Enrollment in or completion of an accredited Automotive Technology program (or equivalent hands-on automotive experience).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Basic understanding of automotive mechanics, tools, and electronics.
• Strong willingness to learn, adapt, and follow precise technical procedures.
• Mechanical aptitude and physical ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a quick-lube technician, tire technician, or shop apprentice.
• Basic set of starter hand tools (shop specialty tools provided).
• Familiarity with luxury or European import brands.
