Job summary

Mercantile Associate - Housekeeping at Freeport-McMoRan in Morenci, AZ is seeking a reliable team member to clean hotel rooms, housing areas, and related spaces under supervision. You will handle routine cleaning tasks and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for guests and employees.

Responsibilities include thorough cleaning, reporting maintenance needs to the Housing Administrator, stocking rooms, and ensuring equipment is ready for use. On-site work with additional benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Must have current valid driver's license.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to maintain positive guest and working relationships.

• Perform thorough cleaning services including, but not limited to: vacuuming, sanitizing bathrooms, changing linens, sweeping, mopping and general housekeeping.
• Notify Housing Administrator of broken/damaged equipment or furniture which requires fixing or replacement and coordinate removal of broken/damaged items.
• Prepare inventory for furniture and supplies and maintain records and properly stock all hotel rooms and housing with necessary items.
• Ensure perfect working condition of the tools and equipment employed to execute high quality work.
• Perform other duties as required.

Where You Will Work

Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open-pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode. Description

Under general supervision, performs all duties required to ensure the cleanliness of hotel rooms, housing, and other assigned areas.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have current valid driver's license
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to maintain positive guest and working relationships

Preferred

• High School diploma or GED
• Knowledge of handling and preparing chemicals for cleaning purposes
• Prior housekeeping experience

• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
• Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
• Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see
• Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the course of the work day

What We Offer You

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $16.50 - $21.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
