Actalent is seeking a MEP Construction Superintendent for contract work in Cocoa, FL. You will lead daily field operations on large-scale projects, supervise mechanical, electrical, and plumbing activities, and drive safety, schedules, and quality in dynamic outdoor environments.

This role leads daily field operations for large-scale, fast-moving construction projects with a focus on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) supervision. The position ensures that all work is executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project objectives, schedules, and quality standards. The MEP Construction Field Supervisor coordinates site logistics, supports project management activities, and provides hands‑on leadership in a dynamic, technically complex environment.

Direct and coordinate site logistics and operational personnel, including workforce planning, scheduling, and resource management.
Develop, manage, and continuously improve site logistics strategies that support overall construction milestones and project deliverables.
Oversee company-owned and rented site assets, including office trailers, temporary facilities, portable sanitation units, equipment rentals, and material handling resources.
Champion a proactive safety culture by enforcing company safety standards and partnering with contractors and internal stakeholders to maintain a safe work environment.
Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving day‑to‑day field issues, coordinating solutions between subcontractors, vendors, and project teams.
Manage construction material flow, including receiving, unloading, inventory control, storage, and distribution of owner‑furnished materials.
Ensure construction areas remain organized, clean, and compliant with site housekeeping standards.
Maintain and modify temporary barriers, fencing, signage, and other site control measures to support evolving project requirements.
Monitor and administer stormwater pollution prevention measures and environmental compliance programs, ensuring adherence to all applicable regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to develop workforce and subcontractor schedules, making adjustments as project conditions change.
Prepare and maintain detailed daily field reports documenting manpower, activities, progress, deliveries, safety observations, and project concerns.
Manage assigned construction scopes from planning through completion, including procurement, execution, and closeout activities.
Develop preliminary cost estimates and budget projections based on project requirements and scope definitions.
Solicit, review, and evaluate contractor bids and proposals, assisting with contractor selection and award recommendations.
Establish project budgets, schedules, and performance metrics while tracking progress against planned objectives.
Coordinate project execution activities and provide routine status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
Work closely with facilities personnel, operations teams, and end users to minimize disruptions to ongoing building activities.
Supervise off‑shift and night‑work operations when project schedules require after‑hours construction.
Identify schedule risks and operational challenges early and implement corrective actions to maintain project momentum.
Escalate significant technical, budgetary, or schedule concerns to engineering and project leadership as appropriate.
Manage contractor access requirements, credentialing, and security compliance processes for restricted and secure facilities.
Provide hands‑on field support and skilled trade assistance when required to support critical project activities.
Provide mechanical, electrical, and plumbing supervision as part of overall construction management responsibilities.
High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
3+ years of professional experience in the construction or aerospace industries with experience leading or coordinating a labor force.
3+ years of hands‑on experience with a trade skill in one or more of the following areas: welding, tubing, vertical building, integration, machining, fabrication, or heavy equipment operation.
Construction management experience with responsibility for field operations and site logistics.
Mechanical supervision experience on construction projects.
Electrical supervision experience on construction projects.
Plumbing supervision experience on construction projects.
Ability to lead and coordinate a multi‑disciplinary labor force in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong ability to organize, document, and maintain detailed daily field reports.
Valid drivers license.
Field experience in a technical field or in managing a multi‑disciplinary team of contractors and laborers.
Previous experience with project management and scheduling software.
Basic proficiency with 2D or 3D modeling programs.
Knowledge of processes related to jurisdictional permitting and environmental agencies.
Understanding of multiple disciplines such as civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, piping, geotechnical, and surveying.
Experience with project management of construction projects, including estimating, cost control, scheduling, and contractor coordination.
Experience reading, reviewing, and approving shop and fabrication drawings.
Ability to rapidly change roles and responsibilities while maintaining a high sense of urgency in a high‑paced, challenging work environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, take initiative, and communicate effectively.
Ability to work at elevated heights (200+ feet).
Ability to perform physical tasks involving lifting and carrying materials or equipment up to 25 lbs.
Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when needed, based on site operational needs.
Willingness to travel occasionally to support operations at production and launch sites.
The role is based in launch pad facilities and associated construction sites, where work takes place in dynamic, large-scale outdoor and industrial environments. Team members typically work in extreme outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, and rain, and may be exposed to fumes, odors, and noise. The position requires frequent presence in active construction zones and at elevated heights (up to and above 200 feet), with strict adherence to site safety protocols and personal protective equipment requirements. Work schedules may extend beyond standard hours, including nights and weekends, to support critical project milestones and off‑shift operations. Occasional travel may be required to support activities at production and launch sites, and the environment emphasizes a high sense of urgency, strong safety culture, and close collaboration with engineering, operations, and facilities teams.
This is a Contract position based out of Cocoa, FL.
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $52.00/hr.
