Job summary

Actalent is seeking a dedicated and experienced Technical Superintendent / MEP Superintendent to lead all MEP activities on a Data Center project in Columbus, OH. This field-based role oversees mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and specialty systems to ensure safety, on-schedule delivery and high-quality results.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of construction superintendent experience with a strong focus on MEP.
• Experience overseeing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and specialty subcontractors.
• Ability to manage all MEP scopes for large-scale commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects.
• Strong understanding of installation sequencing, commissioning, coordination, and quality control.
• Experience working with either a General Contractor or MEP Contractor.
• Experience supporting mission-critical, data center, industrial, or manufacturing construction projects.
• Knowledge of commissioning, startup, and turnover processes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience leading subcontractor meetings and driving field coordination efforts.
• Proficiency with construction management software and scheduling tools is preferred.

Work Environment

This is a field-based position supporting a large-scale construction project. You will be responsible for one building and have full oversight of all MEP scopes. The environment is fast-paced, requiring daily coordination with project management, subcontractors, and client stakeholders. The typical workweek is 50 hours (Monday to Friday) with occasional weekends. Travel home schedules vary by project and can be arranged with the site lead.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Detroit, MI.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
