Job summary

Just Construction Recruitment is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead the delivery of complex K-12 education and healthcare construction projects in the Charlotte area. The role requires directing field operations from mobilization through closeout with emphasis on safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

The ideal candidate will manage MEP coordination, read and interpret drawings and specifications, and coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to maintain

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of Superintendent experience in commercial general contracting.
• Experience with K-12 education and/or healthcare construction.
• Strong experience with MEP-intensive projects and coordination.
• Ground-up construction experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs and MEP plans.
• Proven leadership and subcontractor coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily field operations and site activities.
• Lead subcontractor coordination with a focus on MEP trades and sequencing.
• Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and other building systems.
• Maintain project schedules, safety standards and quality control.
• Conduct daily site walks to monitor progress, manpower, installations and field coordination.
• Identify and resolve MEP and trade conflicts in collaboration with project teams and design partners.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, punch lists and closeout activities.
• Ensure construction complies with drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Manage work sequencing and maintain project milestones.
• Communicate effectively with Project Managers, owners, architects, engineers and subcontractors.
• Maintain a safe, organized and productive jobsite.

A growing commercial construction team is seeking a Superintendent to lead the delivery of complex K-12 education and healthcare construction projects. This role is ideal for an experienced field leader who understands the coordination demands of MEP-intensive environments and can drive projects from mobilization through closeout.

About the Role

Project Focus

• Ground-up and major renovation K-12 and healthcare projects
• Projects typically ranging from $30M+
• MEP-intensive environments with complex mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems
• Active or occupied facilities where safety, phasing and coordination are critical

Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily field operations and site activities
• Lead subcontractor coordination, with a strong focus on MEP trades and sequencing
• Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and other building systems
• Maintain project schedules, safety standards and quality control
• Conduct daily site walks to monitor progress, manpower, installations and field coordination
• Identify and resolve MEP and trade conflicts in collaboration with project teams and design partners

• Proven leadership and subcontractor coordination skills
• Strong communication, problem-solving and organizational abilities
• Strong commitment to jobsite safety and quality
