Job summary

PCL Construction Services, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated MEP Preconstruction Manager to support its national data center business unit.

Based at our US Head Office, you will lead detailed estimates, pricing strategies and tender development for large projects. With 12+ years in construction cost estimating and a strong track record of complex bids, you will collaborate with owners, consultants and management to drive value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Gold Seal certification in estimating.
• 12 years of progressive experience in construction cost estimating.
• Led pursuits up to $250 million across hard bid, design-build and construction management.
• Knowledge of bid processes and contract delivery methods.
• Strong leadership and ability to manage teams.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze contract documents and specifications for large hard-bid, lump-sum, CM and design-build projects.
• Establish critical path schedules with milestones to meet deadlines.
• Complete quantity take-offs for labor, equipment and materials; review pricing.
• Lead pricing of general expenses and project-specific requirements.
• Oversee final bid submissions and tender documents with the chief estimator.
• Conduct risk and opportunity analysis for the risk register.
• Coordinate with external consultants and PM orgs to estimate budgets.
• Assist chief estimator with historical data and benchmarks.
• Monitor client success criteria and drive creative solutions for project benefit.
• Advise management on strategic pursuit initiatives.
