Job summary

CPH is a multi-disciplinary Engineering and Architecture firm seeking a Mechanical Designer to join the MEP team in Sanford, FL. The ideal candidate will specialize in HVAC or plumbing, with a working knowledge of both.

The role emphasizes collaboration, accurate documentation, and energy compliance. The Mechanical Designer will perform building load calculations, develop HVAC and plumbing designs, and produce detailed Construction Documents using REVIT/CAD.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of experience in an A/E or related firm.
• Vocational school training or Associate’s degree; BSME with EIT is a plus.
• Proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Bluebeam.
• Experience in Commercial Retail, Restaurants, Office Buildings, Industrial, and Public Sector is preferred.
• Strong written and communication skills; able to work independently and in a team.
• Comfortable coordinating with remote team members via Teams and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Assist with MEP design solutions on Commercial and Municipal projects.
• Develop HVAC and plumbing layouts; size ductwork and piping.
• Produce Construction Documents for Mechanical Designs in REVIT/CAD with limited oversight.
• Coordinate with a multi-disciplined design team to streamline project workflow.
• Manage REVIT/AutoCAD files, plotting, and document archiving.
• Edit sheets, General Notes per project requirements, and energy forms.
• Complete energy compliance forms (e.g., ComCheck).
