Job summary

Barton Malow is seeking a qualified Safety Manager to oversee safety on our Dayton-area healthcare construction project. You will enforce safety policies, coordinate MEP activities, and lead site safety planning.

The role requires distributing responsibilities and ensuring compliance with contract documents and safety standards across multiple trades. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in MEP-focused roles and a technical engineering degree, with healthcare project experience and OSHA 30 preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in roles involving Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing.
• 4 year technical/engineering degree or equivalent field experience.
• Prior experience on healthcare projects preferred.
• OSHA 30 hour preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enforce corporate safety policies on jobsite, providing key responsibility for safety compliance in the field.
• Implement proactive pre-task safety planning for all work activities
• Supervise, coordinate and sequence contractors’ work
• Monitor performance and coordinate work to maintain productivity of trades
• Oversee creation and completion of punch list
• Facilitate Mechanical/Electrical overhead coordination
• Develop site logistics plans for entire project to maximize productivity and minimize impacts to building occupants
• Develop and maintain complete and detailed project schedule and manage work in accordance with the schedule
• Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by enforcing contract requirements and limiting field changes
• Assist with development of work scopes and front end documents that comply with applicable trade jurisdictions
• Communicate effectively with the Project Manager
• Effect timely resolution of conflicts and disputes to minimize delays and claims
