Job summary

The Ravin Group in Louisville, KY, is seeking an experienced MEP Estimator to join our commercial construction team. You will perform quantity take-offs, price bids, and manage risk across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components, from conceptual to final design phases.

Qualified candidates have a bachelor's in engineering or construction management and at least five years' estimating in two MEP disciplines, proficiency with estimating software, and strong communication and leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field required.
• Minimum of 5 years estimating experience in at least two of the three MEP disciplines (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
• Proficient with estimating software and digital take-off tools.
• Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

Location: Louisville, KY

Our client, a well-established construction firm in the Fort Wayne area, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented MEP Estimator to join their team. Key Responsibilities:

• Perform accurate quantity take-offs, pricing, and scoping for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) construction components.
• Develop competitive bids and proposals by analyzing project drawings, narratives, and specifications.
• Solicit, evaluate, and build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and accurate scope coverage.
• Price subcontractor and supplier bids, as well as self-performed work, with attention to detail and risk management.
• Identify and analyze project risks, site conditions, and constructability issues to inform estimate accuracy.
• Collaborate with the preconstruction team on material selection, bid strategies, and presentations.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and contribute to cost-saving solutions.
• Prepare detailed and comprehensive estimates from conceptual through final design phases.
• Lead estimating efforts on select projects and coordinate with internal teams throughout the bid process.
• Review estimates with project managers, superintendents, and senior leadership to ensure scope alignment and feasibility.
• Maintain and update historical cost data for benchmarking and future reference.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience estimating in at least two of the three MEP disciplines (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
