Job summary

fab2 is hiring an MEP Engineer to build out new spaces and maintain our office, lab, and production spaces in Texas and California. The role is hands‑on, requiring practicality, reliability, and strong problem‑solving on site.

You will work across multiple facilities, manage upkeep, coordinate equipment moves, and support lab installs while collaborating with architects, engineers, and vendors. Travel up to 50% is expected.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or Structural Engineering.
• 5+ years leading large-scale construction projects, ground‑up or retrofit.
• Familiar with basic safety practices and facility compliance requirements.
• Experience with HVAC, MEP systems, or process equipment.
• Owning general maintenance across electrical, mechanical, and building systems.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Experience in active lab or light industrial environments.
• Ability to travel up to 50% to various work sites.

Responsibilities

• Own and coordinate construction and install projects from ideation to delivery and operation (furniture, shelving, process piping, electrical/mechanical work, cabling).
• Perform and coordinate day-to-day facilities maintenance and repairs across office, lab, and production areas.
• Troubleshoot and fix issues with building systems, equipment, fixtures, and infrastructure.
• Support lab and R&D teams with equipment moves, setups, and facility needs.
• Coordinate and escort vendors and contractors when specialized work is required.
• Spot problems early and fix or elevate them before they become bigger issues.
• Help keep facilities safe, organized, and operational.
• Pitch in on one‑off projects and urgent fixes as they come up.
