McFarland Construction U.S. seeks a Senior MEP Engineer for design/build projects in Indianapolis, IN. The role leads planning, design, coordination, and oversight of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on commercial builds.

You will collaborate with design teams, contractors, and field staff to ensure code-compliant, high-quality installations and timely project delivery across markets including financial, health, and energy sectors.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering field.
5+ years of experience in MEP engineering within construction.
Solid understanding of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems and codes.
Proficient in reading technical drawings and software such as AutoCAD, Revit or BIM.
Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
OSHA 30 certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

Review and coordinate MEP designs and shop drawings for accuracy and codes.
Support pre-construction efforts including scope development and constructability reviews.
Coordinate installation of MEP systems with architectural/structural elements.
Conduct site inspections to verify workmanship and compliance.
Identify and resolve MEP-related field conflicts through collaboration.
Liaise with MEP subcontractors and other stakeholders for smooth execution.
Monitor progress of MEP installation and commissioning activities.
Provide technical guidance throughout the construction lifecycle.
Assist in reviewing RFIs, submittals and change orders related to MEP.
Ensure safety and code compliance in all MEP installations.

Position Summary

MEP Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, coordination, and oversight of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems on construction projects. This role ensures systems are designed and installed in accordance with project requirements, codes, and industry standards, and collaborates closely with design teams, contractors, and field staff to resolve issues and drive successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities Include

Review and coordinate MEP designs and shop drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications and building codes.
Support pre-construction efforts including scope development, value engineering, and constructability reviews.
Coordinate installation and integration of MEP systems with architectural and structural elements.
Conduct site inspections to verify quality of workmanship, progress, and compliance with approved drawings and standards.
Identify and resolve MEP-related conflicts or issues in the field through proactive collaboration.
Liaise with MEP subcontractors, consultants, and other project stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and execution.
Monitor and report on the progress of MEP systems installation and commissioning activities.
Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support throughout the construction lifecycle.
Assist in the review of RFI responses, submittals, and change orders related to MEP systems.
Ensure safety and code compliance in all MEP installations.

Education & Additional Qualifications
