Job summary

McGraw Kokosing is hiring a Cost & Controls Engineer in Westerville, OH to support project teams with cost management, reporting, and forecasting. You will standardize processes, improve reporting, and provide reliable cost insights to guide decisions across multiple projects.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of cost engineering or project controls experience, a relevant bachelor's degree, and strong Excel skills. Collaboration across teams in a structured environment is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in cost engineering, project controls, or construction accounting.
• Strong understanding of cost management principles and project workflows.
• Experience with cost management or project systems (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud, Viewpoint, Procore, or similar).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work across multiple teams and projects in a structured, process-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead project budget setup and cost structure development, including alignment with estimate data and company standards.
• Monitor and analyze project costs, productivity, commitments, and expenditures across multiple projects.
• Develop and maintain standardized cost reports, forecasts, and dashboards.
• Support project teams with budget setup, cost tracking, and forecasting processes when needed.
• Collect project production data and produce standardized reports to develop historic productivity by team.
• Analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs and provide actionable insights.
• Assist with owner-required reporting and project-specific tracking requirements.
• Create and maintain RFIs and RFI Log.
• Assist the QA/QC team in record maintenance.
